Fellows work for two years with Harvard faculty members in any school or department to form a community of researchers that strengthens connections across the University.
The Environmental Fellows Program is open to anyone with a doctorate or comparable terminal degree awarded between May and August HUCE expects to award approximately six fellowships for the cohort. All fellows join in biweekly dinners along with Harvard faculty and a speaker from amongst the Harvard faculty. Potential candidates should start early to identify and establish a relationship with a Harvard faculty member to host their research. The host will be a mentor to the fellow and will provide office space and basic administrative support.

As a GSAS student, you may be required or encouraged to find outside funding for projects and research. Fellowships can provide support for your research, travel, language study, dissertation writing, and other necessities of an academic program.
Some fellowships are designed to fund students over multiple years while others are short-term grants for specific time periods or projects.
GSAS hosts several internal fellowship competitions and collaborates with the Committee on General Scholarships on Harvard-wide competitions:. Every fellowship has specific criteria and application instructions, but as a general rule, most competitions ask for:.
